About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as a lead to Clinical Business Operations Representatives
  • Facilitate prompt resolution of highly complex pre- and post-care problems in daily clinical operations
  • Perform administrative and receptionist functions, including answering incoming calls, managing patients, and acquiring necessary patient care and records
  • Assist patients in a courteous, efficient, and professional manner while ensuring adherence to service standards
  • Manage expectations surrounding pre- and post-patient care
  • Provide guidance, support, training, and continuous improvement assistance to Clinical Business Operations Representatives
  • Obtain and review patient demographic, insurance, and referral information
  • Review clinical records for completeness, including authorizations, signatures, missing data, and other patient information
  • Triage incoming calls, respond to questions, direct calls, and document messages in appropriate software
  • Greet visitors and callers, handle inquiries, and direct them to appropriate employees
  • Collaborate with employees to solve problems and improve practice workflow
  • Provide coverage for co-workers as assigned or needed
  • Develop and promote effective communication methods with physicians, managers, peers, trainees, and staff
  • Schedule and coordinate colonoscopies, EGD procedures, and surgeries for pre- and post-transplant patients
  • Work in Cerner and OTTR with transplant service lines to facilitate the pre-transplant process
  • Collaborate with Jackson clinical operation leaders on scheduling pre- and post-transplant patients
  • Participate in organ-specific quality and operational meetings
  • Provide coverage for CBORs in TID, Psychiatry, Nephrology, Hepatology/Cardiology, Pulmonology, or Critical Care
  • Maintain confidentiality and safeguard University assets
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as necessary

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or equivalent/relevant experience, certification or license
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience required
  • Ability to learn new procedures, technologies, and protocols, and adapt to changing priorities and work demands
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others and contribute to a team environment
  • Skilled in using office software, technology, and relevant computer applications
  • Strong and clear written and verbal communication skills for interacting with colleagues and stakeholders
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Adherence to University and unit-level policies and procedures
