About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assess, plan, and provide patient care under physician supervision
  • Examine patients and perform comprehensive physical examinations
  • Compile medical data, including health histories and physical examination results
  • Make preliminary diagnoses or decide on follow-up procedures
  • Administer or order diagnostic tests and interpret test results
  • Perform minor procedures, including immunizations, injections, suturing, and wound care
  • Develop and implement patient care plans
  • Instruct and counsel patients and maintain treatment records
  • Provide general health education and assist with emergency treatment and complex procedures
  • Answer calls and participate in audits and inquiries related to billed services
  • Record accurate documentation of medical data on patient charts
  • Report and document significant information and changes in patients' conditions
  • Interpret laboratory and radiological findings in relation to patients' clinical presentation and treatments
  • Adhere to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguard University assets

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Master's degree in a relevant field required
  • 2 years of relevant experience preferred
  • Valid State of Florida Physician Assistant license required
  • Applicable department certification requirements
  • Ability to learn new procedures, technologies, and protocols and adapt to changing priorities and work demands
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others and contribute to a team environment
  • Skilled in using office software, technology, and relevant computer applications
  • Strong and clear written and verbal communication skills
