About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Instruct undergraduate and/or graduate courses in accordance with University of Phoenix learning objectives and course outlines
Deliver course content, learning activities, and student assessments using current course materials
Provide supplemental knowledge and connect course concepts to real-world applications
Make class materials available promptly
Maintain an engaged classroom presence and respond to student inquiries in a timely manner
Create a supportive learning environment and address academic issues
Coach, tutor, and identify additional resources for student learning
Oversee clinical, practicum, and mentorship experiences when required
Attend faculty meetings, University events, and student graduations
Maintain knowledge of course updates, instruction standards, University technology, and content-area developments
Perform instruction and related duties in an online environment
Maintain active faculty status and perform other assigned duties

Requirements

What you’ll need

Doctorate of Nursing Science, Doctor of Nursing Practice, PhD in Nursing, or Medical Physician degree including Naturopathic MD and Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine; OR doctorate degree in any area and a Master’s degree in Nursing; OR Master’s degree in Nursing
Degree must be from a regionally accredited institution
Minimum 5 years of applicable practice experience as a Nurse Practitioner, Clinical Nurse Specialist, and/or Medical Physician
Minimum 2 years of current experience within the last 5 years
Active, unencumbered or unrestricted Registered Arizona Nurse or Multistate (RN) license
Active Arizona Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) certification in the state of residence and/or practice
Active national certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Clinical Nurse Specialist
Familiarity with adult education teaching and learning theory
High problem-solving and decision-making ability
Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
Technology proficiency, including Microsoft suite programs
Able to convey a professional image and represent the University appropriately
Annual scholarship record meeting UOPX’s scholarship engagement definition
