Key responsibilities & impact

Instruct undergraduate and/or graduate courses in nursing research according to University learning objectives and course outlines
Deliver course content, learning activities, and student assessments using current University course materials
Provide supplemental knowledge and connect course concepts to real-world applications
Make class materials available promptly to support participation and instruction
Maintain an engaged classroom presence and respond promptly to student inquiries
Create a supportive learning environment that promotes student learning, progress, and academic success
Address student academic issues according to University policies
Coach, tutor, and identify additional resources as required
Oversee student clinical, practicum, or mentorship experiences when applicable
Attend faculty meetings and University events
Maintain current knowledge of course updates, instruction standards, and relevant information
Maintain professional and technical knowledge through employment, certification/licensure, conferences, publications, networks, and professional organizations
Teach and perform related duties in an online environment
Maintain knowledge of University technology and adapt to technology changes
Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need

Doctor of Nursing Science, Doctor of Nursing Practice, or a PhD in Nursing OR doctorate degree in any area and a Master’s degree in Nursing
A minimum of 5 years of experience in a clinical nursing practice setting as Nurse Practitioner, with at least 2 years of current experience
Degree must be from a regionally accredited institution
Active, unencumbered or unrestricted Registered Arizona Nurse or Multistate (RN) license
Active Arizona Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) certification
Active national certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner
Applicable professional positions can include Nurse Practitioner, Clinical Nurse Specialist, Clinical Nurse Leader, Nurse Educator, and/or Nurse Leader or Administrator
Must have 2 years of current experience within the last 5 years
Annual scholarship record meeting UOPX’s definition of scholarship engagement
Familiarity with adult education teaching and learning theory
High level of problem solving and decision-making ability
Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
Technology proficiency, including Microsoft suite programs
Ability to convey a professional image and represent the University appropriately
