About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Report to the Vice Provost for Faculty and Staff Affairs as a key member of the Faculty & Staff Affairs team
- Lead development and implementation of a comprehensive communications strategy for FSA programs, services, policies, and initiatives
- Plan, write, and edit content for internal and external stakeholders
- Develop, implement, and deliver communication materials through various media to designated audiences
- Translate detailed institutional information into accessible, audience-centered messaging
- Support two-way communications with faculty and academic staff throughout the career lifecycle
- Manage day-to-day operational unit plans aligned with strategic initiatives and established objectives
- Identify, propose, and implement new or revised unit operational policies and procedures
- Plan and direct unit programs and projects to meet deadlines and budgets
- Help FSA communicate the impact of its work and maintain a consistent, high-quality communications presence
Requirements
What you’ll need- Professional experience planning, writing, editing, and delivering communications for organizational audiences
- Experience developing communication materials across multiple formats or channels
- Experience managing communications projects, including setting timelines, coordinating contributors, tracking deliverables, and meeting deadlines
- Ability to translate complex, detailed, or technical information into clear, accurate, audience-centered communications
- Strong writing and editing skills, with attention to accuracy, tone, audience, accessibility, and consistency
- Ability to develop communications supporting institutional, divisional, or unit goals
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, exercise sound judgment, and adapt communication approaches
- Experience using WordPress, Adobe Creative Cloud, Microsoft 365, email marketing platforms, or related communications platforms
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience required
