About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and implement strategic communication initiatives supporting the department and UW Speech and Hearing Clinic
- Create and manage content across social media, websites, newsletters, and promotional materials
- Work with departmental leadership, alumni, donors, campus partners, and the UW Foundation to tell impactful stories and support advancement, fundraising, donor stewardship, and alumni engagement
- Promote outreach initiatives that increase community awareness and connections
- Provide planning, communications, and logistical support for departmental and clinic events, outreach activities, student and alumni events, and special programs
- Serve as a key point of contact for routine communications inquiries
- Coordinate communications activities through an annual communications plan and content calendar
- Write, edit, and publish content for communication projects and marketing platforms
- Communicate with stakeholders to verify requests and identify editorial resources
- Monitor reach and effectiveness of communication campaigns, projects, and initiatives
- Plan editorial content according to established goals and objectives
- Provide project management and execution of communications programs, initiatives, and tactical plans
Requirements
What you’ll need- Excellent project management and organizational skills, with ability to balance multiple projects at one time
- Demonstrated skill in written and oral communication
- Ability to work independently and function effectively in a team environment, including strong interpersonal skills
- Experience with website content management systems (e.g. WordPress)
- Proficiency with social media tools and communications strategy
- Experience in communications, marketing, and web design
- Experience developing, applying, or enforcing digital accessibility standards
- Bachelor's Degree with a focus in Communications or Marketing, preferred
- Resume/Curriculum Vitae and cover letter required
- Eligibility to work in the United States without employer sponsorship
- Employment may require a criminal background check
