About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Advise and facilitate college readiness programming for an assigned caseload of students through completion of the precollege program and post-secondary enrollment
- Serve as local site administrator for Academic Centers for Enrichment hosted within Milwaukee Public Schools
- Support partnerships between PEOPLE, Milwaukee Public Schools, and the Milwaukee community
- Lead implementation of program policies and procedures through oversight of day-to-day activities for program staff and student and community volunteers
- Develop and evaluate curriculum and programs and recommend improvements
- Exercise supervisory authority, including hiring, training, managing conduct and performance, and approving hours worked
- Identify, promote, and maintain external partnerships
- Serve as a main point of contact to students and provide information about educational options and academic requirements
- Schedule, secure, and communicate logistics and resources for pre-college programs
- Support students in identifying fields of study, career options, or programs and refer them to appropriate resources
- Assist with monitoring pre-college program budget spending
- Research, develop, facilitate, and deliver pre-college program content and materials to community members
Requirements
What you’ll need- At least one year of work experience advising and supporting students in their educational goals
- At least one year of work experience with a college access program and/or precollege students that provide tutoring and/or other college readiness services
- Some supervisory/professional leadership experience
- Must be able to work some evenings and weekends
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Successful applicants must ensure eligibility to work in the United States
- Employment may require a criminal background check
- Current driver’s license with a clean driving record (preferred)
