About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as the primary subject matter expert for operational implementation and management of an animal research digital platform
  • Develop workflows and provide user training and operational support
  • Perform process improvement, ongoing system maintenance, and coordination across multiple research facilities
  • Serve as primary operational liaison with SMPH IT and provide technical support as needed
  • Drive platform adoption, optimize workflows, ensure data integrity, and support continuous improvement across the animal research program
  • Plan, develop, and implement processes and protocols to support research aims
  • Monitor program budgets and approve unit expenditures
  • Develop policies, procedures, and institutional agreements on behalf of the program
  • Coordinate daily activities and contracts related to one or more research programs
  • Serve as unit liaison and subject matter expert among internal and external stakeholders
  • Collaborate across disciplines and functional areas and promote research initiatives
  • Develop, coordinate, and facilitate trainings and workshops for internal and external audiences

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Experience coordinating operations, programs, or projects in a research, laboratory, healthcare, or other regulated environment
  • Experience using business or operational software systems
  • Experience developing procedures, documentation, or training materials
  • Experience with laboratory animal research operations, vivarium management, or a regulated research environment
  • Experience with research billing, per diem/census management, or cost-recovery processes
  • Experience supporting regulatory or accreditation requirements, such as IACUC or AAALAC
  • Experience using or managing facility, laboratory information, or animal management software
  • Resume required
  • Continuous eligibility to work in the United States without employer sponsorship; university sponsorship, sponsorship transfers, and TN visas are unavailable
  • Ability to provide proof of work authorization and eligibility to work
  • Employment may require a criminal background check
