About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead delivery of the Sober/Recovery Housing T/TA Supplement
  • Coordinate training, technical assistance, outcome measurement tools, and peer learning opportunities across HHS Region 5
  • Support states, communities, sober/recovery housing operators, and Recovery Community Organizations
  • Advance implementation fidelity for sober/recovery housing funding and programs
  • Build state and provider capacity to establish certified sober/recovery housing
  • Strengthen outcome accountability and reduce technical barriers to SAMHSA housing-related funding opportunities
  • Supervise implementation of outreach-program-focused strategic planning initiatives and objectives
  • Review recommendations and provide input on new outreach programs or services
  • Develop and implement operating policies and procedures aligned with the strategic plan
  • Determine outreach program needs and personnel resource allocation
  • Monitor the unit or program budget and approve program expenditures
  • May supervise at least 2.0 FTE or equivalent employees

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in substance use recovery support, sober/recovery housing, behavioral health, or technical assistance delivery
  • Demonstrated experience providing TA or training to state agencies, community-based organizations, or service providers
  • Knowledge of sober/recovery housing models, NARR certification standards, and resident safety practices
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders
  • Experience facilitating virtual and in-person meetings, webinars, or workshops
  • Bachelor’s degree in public health, social work, psychology, counseling, public administration, or a related field
  • Master’s degree in public health, social work, psychology, counseling, public administration, or a related field
  • Continuous eligibility to work in the United States
  • Successful applicants must provide proof of work authorization and eligibility to work
  • Employment may require a criminal background check
  • The position may require travel to regional trainings, peer learning convenings, and partner of SAMHSA meetings (approximately 15-25%)
