About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Produce scholarship in an important area of social work research
- Advance interdisciplinary AI and Data Science research at UWM
- Collaborate with the Northwestern Mutual Data Science Institute to address real-world challenges
- Innovate and expand AI and Data Science educational programs
- Collaborate with community and governmental organizations through research and student engagement
- Contribute to teaching and service as a tenure-line faculty member
Requirements
What you’ll need- PhD/Doctorate in social work or a related field
- Ability to meet the rank of a tenured associate or full professor in the Department of Social Work at UWM
- Strong record of research and scholarship, teaching, and service accomplishments comparable to those of a tenured associate or full professor
- Proven success in securing external research funding, preferably federal funding in areas of applied AI
- Demonstrated commitment to fostering inclusive environments and supporting student success, including historically underrepresented students
- Expertise in a critical social work-related area of research
- Expertise in AI and Data Science
- Employment authorization and eligibility to work in the United States at the start date
- Successful criminal background check
- References must answer questions regarding past findings or pending allegations of sexual violence or sexual harassment
