About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Oversee all aspects of the UWM Psychology Clinic, a research and training clinic serving UWM students and the Milwaukee community
  • Work with faculty supervisors and students to develop, implement, and monitor compliance with clinic policies
  • Manage the clinic budget in consultation with the Clinical Training Committee
  • Provide clinical supervision for graduate students in the Clinical Psychology PhD program
  • Supervise psychotherapy teams each year
  • Assist in hiring clinic staff
  • Develop and oversee clinic budget allocations and expenditures
  • Oversee compliance with Clinic and University Policy and legal/ethical standards for psychologists
  • Train and supervise clinic staff, including the Clinic Manager and Graduate Student Clinic TA
  • Supervise front desk staff
  • Conduct clinical student orientation to clinic policies
  • Oversee electronic health records, including software selection, personnel training, record completion, storage, and ethical release
  • Maintain clinical policy and procedure manuals
  • Supervise client intake assessments conducted by the Graduate Student Clinic TA
  • Assign clients to therapists and assist with assigning students to supervisors
  • Directly supervise up to 6–8 student therapists through individual and group supervision and evaluations
  • Survey graduate students and lead clinic operations meetings to improve processes
  • Liaise with campus resources, community placement centers, and clinic supervisors
  • Oversee practicum evaluations and faculty supervisor evaluations
  • Coordinate clinical research with principal investigators
  • Oversee implementation of measurement-based care
  • Meet with student therapists regarding supervision and consultation models
  • Coordinate the Professional Development and Issues in Clinical Psychology program meeting approximately three times per month
  • Assist with APA accreditation records maintenance and renewal
  • Keep abreast of developments relevant to psychology department clinics
  • Teach one graduate course per year
  • Serve as a voting member of the Clinical Training Committee

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, or related field
  • Licensed or Licensed-eligible in Wisconsin
  • Demonstrated publication record
  • Demonstrated record of supervision of clinical psychology graduate students in empirically supported interventions and/or assessment practice
  • Demonstrated ability to work with clinical researchers
  • Demonstrated record of didactic teaching of graduate students in a clinical psychology program or similar
  • Preferred: ABPP in clinical, counseling, CBT, Health, or Neuropsychology
  • Preferred: Familiarity with Clinic Note or similar electronic health record system
  • Preferred: Record of budget management and other skills needed to oversee business operations of the clinic

  • Three professional/supervisor references required for finalists
  • Criminal background check required
  • Must verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States upon hire
