About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support HR Business Partners in coordinating new, continuing, and revised contracts
- Serve as primary contact for pre-employment and onboarding information
- Collect and validate identity documents and ensure timely I-9, E-Verify, and CBC processing
- Review contracts for accuracy and compliance with UWM and UWS policies
- Track contract end dates and coordinate extensions or required documentation
- Introduce new employees to Employee Self-Service (Workday) and compliance modules
- Enter person, position, job, tenure, profile, and additional pay data into Workday
- Generate and manage HR reports related to contract end dates, salary validation, audits, and other needs
- Process personnel action requests, including FTE changes, department updates, compensation adjustments, and classification changes
- Monitor assigned reports and implement corrections or updates
- Collaborate with HRBP, HR Specialist, and other offices on immigration status, salary changes, overloads, and HR procedures
- Maintain personnel files
- Create and maintain Workday job postings
- Ensure compliance with Federal, UWS, and UWM retention guidelines for search materials
- Troubleshoot recruitment issues and maintain recruitment documentation
- Update and maintain applicant statuses in Workday
- Provide recruitment support to HRBP or HR as needed
- Assist with employee offboarding and direct inquiries appropriately
- Run system reports for operational needs and cyclical events
- Participate in special projects supporting UWM HR strategic objectives
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum of one year of experience working in a business office or administrative support role
- Experience utilizing Microsoft Office products (e.g., Teams, Word, Excel)
- Experience working with data management, data administration, and/or information systems
- Criminal background check required
- Verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States at start date
- Complete required employment eligibility verification form upon hire
- Provide a cover letter and resume
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience by the date of hire
- Preferred: Experience using human resources information systems (e.g., Kronos, PeopleSoft, Workday, applicant tracking systems)
- Preferred: Understanding of human resources principles and practices related to staffing, onboarding, and employee orientation
- Preferred: Customer service experience responding to routine and complex inquiries
- Preferred: Experience working with individuals and groups from diverse backgrounds and cultures
- Preferred: Experience within a public sector, higher education, or federal organization
- Finalists must provide three professional/supervisor references
