About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Identify and cultivate relationships with donor prospects at leadership annual giving levels
  • Develop and implement fundraising plans
  • Collaborate with Advancement staff to meet predefined gift contribution goals
  • Manage a portfolio of up to 200 mid-capacity donors and prospects
  • Develop individualized strategies to move prospects toward gift solicitation
  • Work with University Advancement leadership to set goals
  • Engage prospects and donors through qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship
  • Use database solutions and AI-assisted data solutions to execute strategies, track relationship status, and optimize portfolio management
  • Build partnerships with University Advancement staff, academic leaders, campus divisions, and the UWM Foundation
  • Identify solicitation opportunities and maintain donor relationships
  • Develop and deliver targeted fundraising and communication programs and materials
  • Work with the Prospect Management Team to develop and update prospect portfolios and evaluate strategies
  • Serve as a front-facing University Advancement representative to donors and prospects
  • Serve as a liaison to internal and external constituencies and represent institutional interests
  • Recommend improvements to prospect strategies and report results

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience working in a client service profession such as advancement, development, non-profit management, or a related field
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with computers and standard applications, including Microsoft Office and Adobe
  • Employment authorization and identity verification in the United States required at start date
  • Criminal background check required
  • References must answer questions regarding past findings or pending allegations of sexual violence and sexual harassment
  • Cover letter and detailed resume required
  • Preferred: Demonstrated track record of successful annual gift solicitation, sponsorship solicitations, or equivalent measurable achievement
  • Preferred: Broad-based fundraising experience in annual giving, proposal and report preparation, event and/or meeting planning
  • Preferred: Experience with CRM software applications and/or database solutions
  • Preferred: Experience managing projects from inception to delivery, including tracking and reporting results
  • Preferred: Experience in large, complex institutions such as universities, hospitals, or government agencies
