About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Complete a 10-week intern immersion program across business functions such as Finance, Communications, Human Resources, and Underwriting
- Complete orientation and onboarding before joining a business area
- Perform meaningful, challenging project work with immediate business impact
- Collaborate on cross-functional projects and own individual assignments
- Participate in weekly professional development workshops
- Take part in cross-functional business case challenges addressing real business needs
- Present business case outcomes to key business leaders at the end of summer
- Gain exposure to the insurance industry and corporate functions
- Participate in networking, social, and community service activities
- Join an Employee Network and work with the Office of Inclusion & Diversity

Requirements
What you’ll need- Currently enrolled in an accredited college degree program or Spring 2027 graduate
- 3.0 GPA
- Demonstrated leadership abilities and on-campus involvement
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Ability to think strategically and tactically
- Proficiency in MS Word and Excel
- Ability to work independently and be self-directed on project work
- Excellent communication skills
- Available to work 40 hours per week during regular business hours
- Ability to adhere to Unum's hybrid work policy
