About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead governance, adoption, optimization, and operational stewardship of the enterprise Data & AI ecosystem
Own day-to-day management of enterprise Data & AI platforms
Establish and enforce platform governance standards, policies, and operating procedures
Measure platform utilization, adoption, and value realization across business and technology teams
Oversee execution of the team’s analytics strategy and guide tool and methodology usage toward goals and deadlines
Oversee best practices for data and analytics projects to drive platform consistency and standardization
Recruit, train, manage performance, coach, develop, and retain team staff
Oversee construction of predictive models, data pipelines, and analytics workflows, contributing to development as necessary
Translate business needs into technical plans, identify available data, communicate findings, and develop implementation tactics
Provide consulting support regarding corporate policies, procedures, controls, and compliance
Recommend continuous improvement opportunities using current and emerging analysis methods and data tooling
Identify internal and external data sources, construct analytical databases, and develop data pipelines
Discuss data transformation, integration, and reporting requirements with technical and non-technical audiences
Oversee mentoring and training on statistical methods, tools, and data asset development
Partner with Data Engineering, Analytics, AI, Architecture, Security, and Governance teams

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in information technology, mathematics, or statistics preferred
5+ years hands-on experience acting as a Data Engineer, BI Analyst, or Data Scientist
Prior leadership and/or management experience preferred
Experience with analytics programming languages (SQL/R/Python)
Experience with modern BI toolsets (Snowflake, Databricks, Tableau, Alteryx, PowerBI, or equivalent)
In-depth understanding of data profiling, statistical analysis, and data modeling concepts
Experience extracting, loading, and leveraging data in data warehouses, transactional databases, object stores, and API-based environments
Good understanding of data architecture principles and related infrastructure requirements across on-premises and cloud platforms
Strong problem-solving, programming, and project management skills
Ability to interpret and correlate extensive information, decompose complex analytical and technical problems, and translate them into simple business solutions
Ability to think conceptually, handle ambiguity, solve complex problems, and make thoughtful recommendations
Excellent communication skills and ability to work with all corporate levels and external contacts
Demonstrated mentoring/coaching skills developing technical implementation employees
