About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Review, analyze, and interpret vocational and medical information
- Assess vocational information and provide vocational opinions on duties and demands
- Engage employers, claimants, healthcare providers, and internal resources to facilitate return-to-work and stay-at-work services
- Serve as a vocational subject matter expert and consultative resource for claims professionals, Return-to-Work Specialists, and business partners
- Apply vocational knowledge by assessing and synthesizing claim file information and offering balanced conclusions
- Communicate complex vocational issues concisely in writing and verbally
- Identify, develop, coordinate, and implement complex vocational rehabilitation and return-to-work plans
- Gather vocational and medical documentation to assess claim direction
- Complete comprehensive forensic vocational assessments
- Coach claims professionals to increase vocational knowledge
- Enhance vocational practices, resources, training, and operational effectiveness
- Design and deliver vocational training and mentor vocational peers
- Represent the vocational team on cross-functional initiatives and committees
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to Return-to-Work Specialists
- Conduct virtual ergonomic worksite evaluations and provide expert recommendations
- Perform quality assurance reviews and establish vocational best practices, workflows, and policy guidance
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Master’s degree in Vocational Rehabilitation or a related field
- Certification required in rehabilitation counseling, disability management, or case management
- 3+ years vocational experience preferred
- Proven ability to exercise independent professional judgment in a fast-paced, team environment
- Required to maintain professional certifications
- Complete required educational activities
