About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Oversee key client relationships and provide executive-level account stewardship
- Drive client retention, net revenue retention, renewals, expansion, and growth
- Serve as primary executive-level account manager for key clients
- Negotiate complex contracts and renewals
- Lead renewal planning, risk identification, forecasting, and account health metrics
- Elevate QBRs and executive reviews into strategic planning discussions
- Deliver presentations to internal and external executive teams
- Manage client communications and client-facing materials, reports, and commitments
- Anticipate and resolve client concerns and identify enhanced-solution or product opportunities
- Develop reports and Strategic Account Plans
- Market Uprise Health programs and solutions to health plans, employers, and brokers
- Partner with Sales on renewal strategy, pricing, and expansion initiatives
- Identify and convert business development opportunities within existing accounts
- Provide market feedback and coordinate product concept and pricing-sensitivity testing
- Define account management standards, KPIs, communication cadence, QBR structure, and renewal workflows
- Lead, mentor, coach, and evaluate Account Managers
- Establish and track team goals and report outcomes to senior management
- Provide executive oversight for high-risk client escalations
- Collaborate with clinical, call center operations, marketing, product, and administration teams
- Monitor national, regional, and state-level developments affecting clients and populations served
Requirements
What you’ll need- Proven experience as a Director, Account Management
- Outstanding organizational and leadership skills
- Knowledge of performance evaluation techniques and metrics
- Solid understanding of leading a team to meet/exceed quotas and reporting on progress
- Proven experience in exceeding sales quotas in selling into current accounts
- Excellent interpersonal skills and professional etiquette
- High accuracy in work and strong attention to detail
- Strong computer skills, especially MS Office and Internet-based programs
- Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing
- Adaptability and strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to build rapport and collaborate internally and externally
- Ability to meet deadlines and work effectively individually and as part of team goals
- Ability to analyze data and produce reports and analyses using appropriate software
- Willingness to travel regionally and attend meetings/conferences as requested
- Must represent the company professionally
- Punctuality and good attendance expected
- Strong presentation skills and comfort speaking with all organizational levels
- Prior experience in employee benefits/EAP strongly preferred
- 30%–35% travel required
