About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Oversee and direct the development, planning, implementation, maintenance, and transition of specific information systems and services
- Oversee the design and installation of systems and direct their operation and maintenance
- Plan budgeting, rates, staff development, and supervision
- Assist with setting strategic direction for information strategy, systems, and services
- Oversee information systems and services supporting University business continuity and day-to-day operations
- Organize and direct department activities
- Hire, discipline, and/or discharge subordinates
- Evaluate performance, recommend salary adjustments, and initiate personnel actions
- Plan and implement training programs
- Establish policies and procedures for IT systems and services
- Develop specifications for information systems and services supporting University of Rochester objectives
- Keep abreast of industry trends and technical developments through self-study, seminars, courses, conferences, and vendor liaison
- Represent the University in local, state, and national organizations and initiatives
- Manage administrative services, including budgeting and billing for University-wide information systems and services
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree and 7 years of relevant experience, including previous managerial experience, required
- Equivalent combination of education and experience accepted
- Master's degree preferred
