About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage medication coordination and remove barriers preventing patients from receiving medications
  • Communicate with prescribers’ offices to obtain information for insurance submissions and prior authorizations
  • Enroll patients in patient assistance programs, grants, foundations, and coupon programs
  • Coordinate medication delivery and supplies preparation with pharmacy staff
  • Troubleshoot insurance issues and follow up with patients regarding safe and effective medication use
  • Document medication problems and triage issues to pharmacists
  • Coordinate special medication orders and inventory changes
  • Call patients to bill prescriptions and arrange deliveries
  • Provide customer service through the Pharmacy Call Center and triage patient calls
  • Monitor and reconcile patient charge accounts monthly
  • Report errors and contribute to quality improvement initiatives
  • Assist with prescription audits, patient documentation, and training new team members
  • Initiate, document, and track prior authorizations

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Associate’s degree in a Medical, Secretarial, or related field and 4 years of relevant experience required, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Capable of working independently with minimum supervision
  • Strong communication skills and problem-solving abilities
  • Professional presentation
  • Demonstrated customer relations skills
  • Ability to multi-task, manage many details with accuracy, work under pressure, and maintain a professional attitude
