About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage medium to large assigned IT projects independently from end to end
- Gather task requirements and translate them into project plans with tasks, dependencies, timelines, milestones, resources, and deliverables
- Monitor project progress and ensure critical implementation criteria are met
- Coordinate with architects, team leads, resource managers, IT leaders, and sponsors on quality assurance, migrations, promotions, user acceptance, training, and support
- Facilitate project meetings and maintain agendas, participants, and meeting minutes
- Develop and maintain reporting dashboards for senior leadership
- Conduct post-project lessons-learned sessions
- Identify, track, and manage project risks, mitigation plans, and issues through resolution
- Provide status reports to steering committees
- Apply appropriate project management methodologies and manage project scope and timelines through governance bodies
- Stay current with business and strategic goals, team processes, tools, and architecture
- Build and maintain internal departmental relationships
- Coach and positively influence project team members to ensure accountability and action
- Determine project scope with executive sponsors, key users, and analysts; assign resources and obtain approvals
- Present work-related issues to staff and serve on committees and attend meetings as requested
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in a related discipline such as Project Management, Business Administration, Information Technology, or Engineering and 5 years of related experience required, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience in healthcare or higher education preferred
- ServiceNow, JIRA, Smartsheet, Clarity PPM or Project Portfolio Management software experience preferred
- Proven ability to manage projects
- Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Extensive computer literacy, including Microsoft Project, Teams, and PowerPoint preferred
- Certified Project Management Professional (PMP)-PMI within 1 year required
- Agile certification (PMI-ACP, DASM, or CSM) upon hire preferred
