About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Process daily schedules and interact directly with hospital OR scheduling and/or management
- Maintain positive relationships with facilities partnered with USAP
- Produce and maintain anesthetist hours and daily peel-off
- Recognize time gaps and question time inconsistencies
- Monitor and update anesthetist start times
- Independently assess schedules, anticipate potential issues, and communicate with providers
- Produce and maintain daily schedules for all campuses and off-site locations
- Enter and confirm off-site schedules in QGenda
- Communicate with off-site locations to ensure schedules are current
- Confirm weekly room counts for off-site locations
- Compile and distribute next-day schedules to the appropriate scheduling team
- Prepare weekly overviews of off-site locations for staffing
- Monitor future manpower needs through review of vacation, call, and projected needs
- Maintain cross-coverage data
- Ensure in-house schedules are completed daily accurately and on time
- Provide weekly, monthly, or quarterly reports as requested
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Associate’s degree required; bachelor's degree preferred
- 2-3 years of hands-on scheduling experience in a hospital/surgery center or high-volume surgery practice, or an equivalent combination of education and experience required
- Previous lead or senior scheduling level experience preferred
- Prior experience in anesthesia scheduling preferred
- Certification in medical terminology is helpful
- Working knowledge of scheduling, general physician practices, hospital operating room workflows, computers, and basic programs such as MS Excel and Word
- Ability to collaborate cooperatively with physicians, all staff members, and external customers
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to meet the listed physical requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation
- Occasional standing and walking; frequent sitting and hand/finger movement
- Ability to use office equipment in office or remotely
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing
