About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide contact and liaison between National Sales customers, the sales team, and internal departments
- Process incoming orders
- Receive, evaluate, and respond to written or telephoned customer inquiries
- Work within established guidelines to meet service agreement objectives and customer, company policy, profit, and quality requirements
- Back up Sales Coordinator roles
- Receive inbound calls and place outbound calls to provide product and service information, take orders, and obtain complaint details
- Maintain records of customer interactions and transactions
- Resolve customer service or billing complaints and verify corrective actions
- Respond to inquiries and notify customers of claim results and planned adjustments
- Refer unresolved complaints to designated departments
- Assess complaint validity and possible causes
- Coordinate same-day deliveries and pickups; process pickup requests
- Respond to delivery and routing questions and issues
- Respond to product inquiries and share additional services or products
- Compare disputed merchandise with requisitions and invoices; prepare invoices for returned goods
- Contact customers affected by product recalls and withdrawals
- Recommend improvements to products, shipping, service, billing methods, and procedures
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Minimum of three years experience in customer service call center environment required
- Experience in food service distribution a plus
- Excellent verbal communication skills and problem resolution ability required
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook required
- CRM / Phone Technology experience preferred
- Candidates must reside within 50 miles of a US Foods distribution center
- Ability to work Sunday–Thursday, 7:00 am–3:30 pm PT; schedule subject to change based on business needs
