About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide contact and liaison between National Sales customers, the sales team, and internal departments
  • Process incoming orders
  • Receive, evaluate, and respond to written or telephoned customer inquiries
  • Work within established guidelines to meet service agreement objectives and customer, policy, profit, and quality requirements
  • Back up Sales Coordinator roles
  • Receive inbound calls and place outbound calls to provide product and service information, take orders, and obtain complaint details
  • Record customer interactions and transactions, including inquiries, complaints, comments, and actions taken
  • Resolve customer service or billing complaints and verify corrective changes
  • Respond to inquiries, notify customers of claim results and adjustments, and refer unresolved complaints
  • Assess complaint validity and possible causes
  • Coordinate same-day deliveries and pickups; process pickup requests and respond to delivery/routing issues
  • Respond to product inquiries and share additional services or products
  • Compare disputed merchandise with requisitions and invoices and prepare return-goods invoices
  • Contact customers affected by product recalls and withdrawals
  • Recommend improvements to products, shipping, service, billing methods, and procedures

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Minimum of three years experience in customer service call center environment required
  • Experience in food service distribution a plus
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and problem resolution ability required
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook required
  • CRM / Phone Technology experience preferred
  • Candidates must reside within 50 miles of a US Foods distribution center, regardless of region
  • Sunday–Thursday schedule, 7:00 am–4:00 pm CT; schedule subject to change based on business needs
