About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Oversee a group of Territory Managers in selling the Company's products and services
- Direct Territory Managers toward closing, existing-account penetration, new-account acquisition, and development within the district
- Coach, mentor, and train Territory Managers to achieve profitable sales and case-growth objectives
- Lead the team to achieve Division sales, penetration, and churn-reduction objectives
- Develop and maintain long- and short-range sales plans and action plans
- Direct Territory Managers toward high-quality leads and assist with lead warming, closing, new-account openings, and churn reduction
- Submit and administer the annual street sales operating plan and budget
- Review and approve sales-related expenses, credits, donations, and contracts
- Track performance against plan and identify gap closures
- Leverage support roles to reduce administrative work and resolve Territory Manager and customer issues
- Coordinate product cuttings and demonstrations
- Develop sales and marketing strategies and customer proposals
- Conduct market research to determine customer needs
- Communicate sales data to support product and service planning
- Assist with district sales meetings and events
- Use Sales Foundations tools and processes to grow sales and generate additional revenue
- Recruit, train, mentor, and evaluate new and existing Territory Managers
- Conduct field support and work-with sessions
- Assess Territory Manager performance and institute improvement or disciplinary measures as needed
- Support organizational skills, account strategies, and territory planning
- Maintain knowledge of industry trends and product developments
- Research potential customers and make targeted sales calls
- Conduct periodic Customer Business Reviews
- Assist in customer/delivery alignment and driver engagement
- Oversee communication and execution of Company policies within the sales department
- Ensure the sales organization is appropriately staffed and managed to minimize turnover
- Perform other duties as assigned or required
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Sales & Marketing or related field or equivalent experience required
- A minimum of five years of foodservice sales experience required
- A minimum of two years of supervisory experience required
- Overnight travel may be required to participate in trainings, meetings, or other company events
- Demonstrated problem solving and negotiation skills required
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Customer service and presentation abilities
- Proficient computer skills, preferably in Microsoft Office products (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Valid driver's license required
- Candidates who have received a DUI conviction for drug or alcohol within the last three years will not be considered as eligible
- Other license history is reviewed and must meet company standards
