About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Coordinate, prepare, and perform actuarial analyses for new products, future projections, repricing, and financial strength assessments
- Acquire and apply foundational knowledge of USAA’s business, products, and processes
- Utilize actuarial modeling software for pricing, valuation, and risk management
- Enter data and tables, run models, and generate reports under direct supervision
- Follow risk and compliance procedures and guidance
- Perform routine work assignments and problem resolution to support other team members
Requirements
What you’ll need- Pursuing a bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university
- Plan to graduate after the final day of the internship
- Graduation date between August 2027 and June 2029; graduation date cannot be prior to August 13, 2027
- Pursuing a bachelor’s degree or higher in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, or Finance
- Foundational and conceptual knowledge of actuarial functions and business operations
- Sitting for or having completed one or more actuarial exams
- Experience communicating or presenting technical topics to a broad audience
- Demonstrated leadership through employment, extracurricular activities, community service, or other involvement
- Prior quantitative internship or related employment experience
- Knowledge of programming languages and tools such as SQL, VBA, SAS, R, and/or Python
- Understanding and experience applying data analysis and actuarial techniques
- Must not require immigration support now or in the future, including H-1B, TN, or STEM OPT Training Plans
