About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Set the strategic direction and oversee execution of security engineering initiatives across the organization
  • Build and lead a team of distinguished engineers and principals developing security solutions across AI, Cloud, Data, and other priority technology areas
  • Integrate security requirements throughout the solution/application enablement and sustainment lifecycle
  • Collaborate with architecture on strategic direction for complex technologies within security domains
  • Lead research, analysis, troubleshooting, and reporting for complex security issues, systems, tools, and vendor integrations
  • Design, develop, code, integrate, and test complex cross-functional security solutions
  • Apply SRE practices to ensure highly available, performant, and secure systems
  • Lead implementation of event-driven security architectures, methods, and controls
  • Advise on security architecture and controls for security, compliance, and audit requirements
  • Mentor and guide security engineers and foster continuous learning and professional growth
  • Conduct code and design reviews and drive engineering efficiencies
  • Identify, measure, monitor, and control existing and emerging risks
  • Collaborate with Security Analysts, IT, and Business Partners to tune, harden, and enhance security solutions
  • Influence cross-functional security efforts as a subject matter expert
  • Resolve complex production issues and troubleshoot end-to-end solutions spanning applications and systems
  • Install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain security infrastructure hardware and software

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree; OR 4 years of relevant education and/or experience
  • 10 years of related experience in Security Engineering and/or Information Technology with a strong security focus
  • 6 years of people leadership experience building, managing and developing high-performing engineering teams, including performance management, coaching, and professional development
  • Ability to foster a positive and high-performing team culture
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop junior engineers
  • Proven experience leading and driving company-wide technology projects or initiatives
  • Demonstrated experience leading and owning security strategies, solutions, and/or initiatives through successful completion
  • Advanced experience with modern programming/scripting languages and frameworks
  • Extensive experience designing, implementing, and leading security engineering activities utilizing modern DevSecOps practices
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex production issues across applications and systems
  • Experience with platform engineering concepts, including infrastructure/policy as code, security architecture design patterns, security vendor integrations, and CI/CD pipelines with built-in application security controls
  • Experience leading implementation of event-driven security architecture, methods, and controls
  • Experience advising on security architecture, methods, and controls for security, compliance, and audit requirements
  • Familiarity with Public Cloud, Containerization, Security Data Lakes, ML/LLMs, and GenAI
  • Must not require immigration support or visa sponsorship now or in the future
