About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide technical leadership for Microsoft Exchange and Productivity Services platforms
  • Architect, engineer, and provide operational support for Exchange Online, Outlook, Office applications, Microsoft 365 productivity services, and related collaboration technologies
  • Design, implement, support, and provide end-user support for Microsoft Exchange and Productivity Services platforms
  • Establish engineering standards and lead complex technical initiatives
  • Develop and maintain architectural documentation and operational runbooks
  • Partner with Infrastructure, Security, Networking, Identity, Compliance, Risk, and End User Computing teams
  • Assist with compliance, governance, audit, regulatory, and data protection activities related to Microsoft 365 services
  • Ensure platform configurations align with enterprise security and compliance requirements
  • Develop engineering talent and mentor engineers
  • Participate in on-call rotations and major incident response
  • Shape the future strategy and architecture of Microsoft 365 productivity capabilities
  • Guide design of highly complex, scalable IT infrastructure systems
  • Create and enforce standards for system changes
  • Manage complex implementations and automate service delivery and maintenance tasks
  • Influence monitoring, observability, and tooling activities
  • Lead resolution of complex production issues and troubleshoot end-to-end solutions
  • Provide real-time troubleshooting support for major incidents

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 8 years of infrastructure engineering experience demonstrating deep technical expertise within a specific technology domain
  • 5+ years administering and supporting Microsoft Exchange Online and hybrid Exchange environments within a large enterprise
  • 2 years of technical leadership experience, including mentoring, coaching, and providing technical guidance to engineering teams
  • Advanced troubleshooting experience across Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, networking, identity, security, and endpoint technologies
  • Experience designing, implementing, supporting, and maintaining highly available, secure, and scalable enterprise infrastructure solutions
  • Strong understanding of messaging architecture, including mail flow, SMTP, DNS, email routing, and Exchange service dependencies
  • Knowledge of infrastructure design principles, automation, system integration, and scalable service delivery
  • Experience working with cloud-based technologies and services
  • Ability to partner effectively with business leaders, engineering teams, and cross-functional stakeholders
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Microsoft 365 Messaging Administrator Associate, Microsoft 365 Administrator Expert, or equivalent Microsoft certifications
  • Experience supporting large-scale enterprise Microsoft 365 environments
  • Experience leading Exchange Online migrations, modernization initiatives, or enterprise transformation efforts
  • Experience supporting Microsoft Teams and its integration with Exchange Online, including calendaring, scheduling, and collaboration services
  • Experience serving as a technical lead, lead engineer, or subject matter expert for enterprise messaging platforms
  • Experience building PowerShell automation and operational efficiencies
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Purview, Microsoft Defender, retention, compliance, and governance solutions
  • Experience operating within highly regulated environments with strong security, compliance, and audit requirements
  • Familiarity with ITIL practices including Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Management, and Major Incident Response
  • Experience working directly with Microsoft and third-party vendors
  • Must not require immigration support or visa sponsorship now or in the future
