About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Research new securities purchased in institutional portfolios using Bloomberg and other market data sources
- Work with traders, strategists, asset managers and reporting analysts to research securities
- Create, define and maintain securities records in order management, accounting and data warehouse systems
- Monitor post-trade compliance triggers
- Facilitate post-trade and pre-accounting operations with investment custodians and software vendors
- Identify, measure, monitor and control risks associated with business activities
- Provide subject matter expertise on valuing complex securities and completing securities transaction data entry
- Validate corrections to security master data errors and review corrections across multiple reviewers and preparers
- Diagnose complex system and data problems, determine root causes and coordinate resolutions
- Lead identification and correction of complex trade data problems across asset managers and formats
- Notify compliance, traders and portfolio managers of compliance violations
- Facilitate operational discussions with asset managers and custodian banks, including vendor management and scorecard reviews
- Address gaps from control testing, audits and QA; assist with issue management
- Peer review corporate actions
- Provide advanced user support and configuration assistance to the investment management group
- Support middle-office user access reviews
- Serve as a subject matter expert in system enhancement efforts and projects
- Lead Lines of Defense testing, assign test cases, gather evidence and facilitate stakeholder reviews
- Provide IT with business requirements and validate enhancements through testing
- Identify compliant process improvements and solutions
- Execute trade reconciliations, regulatory reporting, collateral processing and SMF reviews
- Manage projects from initiation through completion, including coordination, resourcing and testing
- Assign and direct work of other analysts and represent Investment Operations in the Director's absence
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree; OR 4 years of related experience, in addition to the minimum required experience, may be substituted in lieu of degree
- 8 years of experience in investment operations or middle office functions within the financial services industry
- Subject matter expertise and demonstrated application of securities laws and regulations
- Subject matter expertise with Investment Operations Middle Office functions
- Advanced knowledge and application of Investments Control Frameworks, including experience with control testing and audits
- Experience leading cross-functional projects
- Advanced experience with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word and Outlook

- Strong expertise in security master data management, including setup and maintenance of complex instruments such as private credit and structured products
- Advanced understanding of the end-to-end trade lifecycle, including trade capture, settlement and reconciliation
- Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex data and system issues across integrated platforms and workflows
- Advanced familiarity with investment platforms such as Aladdin and PAM
- Experience leading or heavily contributing to cross-functional initiatives, including system enhancements, process redesign or regulatory projects
- Solid background in investment control frameworks, including audit support, control testing, issue remediation and risk management practice
- Hands-on experience partnering with custodians, vendors and external service providers
- Demonstrated ability to mentor, guide and review junior team members without formal supervisory responsibility
- Proficiency in data analysis and relational databases
