About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform complex assignments using actuarial modeling software-driven models for pricing, valuation, and/or risk management
  • Review laws and regulations for compliance, recommend process improvements, and monitor industry communications
  • Run models, generate reports, and present detailed analyses and recommendations to Actuarial Leadership
  • Recommend model adjustments and improvements when appropriate
  • Share knowledge, support team members, and resolve escalated issues
  • Lead or participate as a key resource on moderately complex cross-functional actuarial projects from concept through implementation
  • Develop exhibits and reports explaining proposals and findings for stakeholders
  • Independently identify business problems and present recommended solutions to leadership
  • Maintain price levels, price structures, data availability, and other requirements supporting profitability and competitiveness
  • Identify critical assumptions, monitor trends, and recommend timely corrective actions
  • Test assumption impacts by analyzing sources of gain and loss, premiums, interest margins, reserves, and cash values for product profitability and viability
  • Advise management and serve as a primary resource for team members on escalated issues
  • Identify, measure, monitor, and control risks in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree; OR 4 years of related experience, in addition to the minimum years of experience required, may be substituted in lieu of degree
  • 4 years relevant actuarial or analytical experience and attainment of Fellow within the Society of Actuaries; OR 8 years relevant actuarial experience and attainment of Associate within the Society of Actuaries
  • Experience performing complex work assignments utilizing actuarial modeling software-driven models for pricing, valuation, and/or risk management
  • Demonstrated experience communicating complex actuarial analysis and recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences
  • 5+ years of Moody’s AXIS experience preferred as a differentiator
  • Advanced degree preferred as a differentiator
  • US military experience through military service or a military spouse/domestic partner listed as a differentiator
  • Must not require visa sponsorship or immigration support now or in the future
