Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the development, implementation, and monitoring of credit strategies for Mortgage and Home Equity portfolios
  • Use quantitative analysis to identify credit risk and optimize profitable growth within established risk appetite
  • Monitor portfolio performance trends and evaluate internal and external factors affecting results
  • Identify root causes of changes in key performance metrics
  • Recommend data-driven underwriting and account management strategies
  • Translate complex data into actionable recommendations and present strategic insights to executive-level audiences
  • Identify risks and opportunities within the managed portfolio and deliver credit risk strategies
  • Synthesize analyses, develop recommendations, and influence senior decision makers
  • Deliver Bank credit risk strategies across lines of defense
  • Drive analytical projects through analysis of data and processes and communicate insights to stakeholders and leadership
  • Apply industry knowledge and competitive benchmarking to inform credit strategy development
  • Perform quantitative analysis using internal and external data sources
  • Develop and present risk and financial reporting for senior management and committee oversight
  • Perform complex financial risk sensitivity analysis
  • Create requirements for credit strategy infrastructure and ensure strategies are implemented as intended
  • Analyze credit data using programming and analytical techniques
  • Support junior team members on analytics and risk management
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to guide teams in developing and implementing initiatives
  • Identify, measure, monitor, and control risks in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or Mathematics; OR 4 years of relevant education and/or experience
  • Experience in an analytical field or work focused on leading analytical projects, advanced analytics, and risk assessments; OR an advanced degree in a relevant discipline and 2 years of experience in an analytical field or related work
  • Mortgage banking or real estate lending industry experience
  • Understanding of banking regulations, risk and/or compliance
  • Strong presentation and communication skills
  • Good business acumen and attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong research and investigation skills and demonstrated good judgment in problem solving
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Strong knowledge of data analysis tools, including SQL, SAS, SPSS, Python, R, or Visual Basic
  • Knowledge of FCRA, Reg B, UDAAP/UDAP, OCC Heightened Standards, OCC Credit Risk Guidance, HMDA/Reg C, TILA/Reg Z, RESPA/Reg X, FDPA, ECOA/Reg B, SCRA, BSA/AML, GLBA/Reg P, and Complaints
  • Proven ability to identify emerging credit risks and analyze portfolio performance drivers across large consumer lending portfolios
  • Experience partnering with Risk, Finance, Modeling, Product, and Operations teams
  • Prior analytical experience supporting Mortgage, Home Equity, or Consumer Lending products
  • Experience improving reporting, analytics, and risk monitoring processes
  • Experience using Python, SAS, and VS Code
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • US military experience through military service or a military spouse/domestic partner
  • Must not require immigration support or visa sponsorship now or in the future
