About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Build relationships with and provide oversight of third-party vendors through virtual or in-person interactions
- Onboard vendors, oversee vendor performance, maintain partnerships, and coach vendors toward contractual and operational goals
- Evaluate vendor work product for quality, accuracy, and contract compliance
- Collaborate with 3PRM on vendor footprint to balance member needs and operational resources
- Resolve complaints and payment discrepancies within the vendor MOI
- Provide direction on borderline Total Loss situations
- Make decisions and provide insight on physical damage losses within granted authority; advance requests for additional authority as needed
- Apply advanced knowledge of P&C insurance products, services, contracts, internal processes, and procedures to ensure compliance
- Support workload surges and catastrophe operations as needed
- Help manage output, throughput, and USAA adherence guidelines for Auto Physical Damage processes, including Rental, Alternative Parts Utilization, Vehicle Owner Communication, and Assignment Completions
- Identify, measure, monitor, and control risks in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures
- Travel throughout the year to support catastrophe response and field operations
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma
- 4 years auto physical damage estimating experience
- Currently possess or acquire and maintain individual I-CAR Platinum Pro-Level 3 certification within 12 months of hire
- Ability to prioritize, solve problems, and effectively communicate next steps and path to resolution
- Effective communication through multiple channels, including digital tools
- Acquire and maintain an insurance adjuster license within 90 days and designated number of attempts
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to operate a company vehicle within the assigned territory, as required
- Ability to perform physical inspection activities including reaching, handling, squatting, bending, climbing, and kneeling, as needed
- Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather and in body shop and/or salvage yard environments, as required
- Meet USAA safe driving requirements, including verification of driving record through MVR and possession of a valid driver's license, as required
- Ability to travel at least 50% throughout the year
- Currently reside in the San Antonio or Austin, TX area
- 5+ years of complex auto physical damage estimating experience preferred as a differentiator
- Experience with STARS or other automotive Direct Repair Programs (DRP) preferred as a differentiator
- Collision body shop experience preferred as a differentiator
- Proficiency with CCC vehicle damage estimating system preferred as a differentiator
- Supervisory experience over large repair shop networks preferred as a differentiator
- Ability to multi-task and triage claims in a high-volume environment preferred as a differentiator
- I-CAR Platinum certification preferred as a differentiator
- P&C insurance adjuster license preferred as a differentiator
- US military experience gained through military service or as a military spouse/domestic partner preferred as a differentiator
- Must not require immigration support or visa sponsorship now or in the future
