About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop digital-first products supporting the needs and risks of USAA members
- Lead development and launch of innovative product offerings and enhanced features/services for existing products
- Maintain knowledge of business and underwriting performance for products in scope
- Monitor, maintain, and underwrite new-in-market products based on performance, member needs, and competitive changes
- Develop recommendations for launching new products and evaluating whether to buy, build, or ally
- Generate product and coverage solutions for member needs
- Conduct complex analysis of internal and external data and member information to support product strategy and competitive intelligence
- Develop and communicate new product value propositions
- Ensure sales support across distribution channels, including digital, mobile, and contact center
- Analyze and evaluate new product performance metrics and recommend changes before full launch
- Coordinate with Legal, Compliance, and Risk Management to ensure compliant product design and implementation
- Identify, measure, monitor, and control risks in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures
- Work cross-functionally on product development, compliance, operations, process improvements, claims management, vendor management, product documentation, fulfillment, and system releases
- Occasional business travel
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, or Statistics; OR 4 years of relevant education and/or experience
- 8 years relevant experience in Actuarial, Pricing, Underwriting, Marketing, Operations, Financial Services or relevant military experience
- Extensive experience in developing, deploying and supporting product and/or integrated suite of products
- Experience working through agile product development process, managing multiple products simultaneously
- Knowledge and application of Product Development Life Cycle (PDLC)
- Hands-on experience in problem framing, qualitative and quantitative research, running product experiments, hypothesis testing and prototyping
- Ability to navigate ambiguous contexts with confidence
- Ability to break large complex initiatives into smaller manageable features and capabilities and deliver them early and often
- Strong P&C Business Acumen, preferably in Auto
- Experience designing innovative Insurance product enhancements, preferably Auto
- Demonstrated experience with data analytics; ideally Snowflake, SQL, Tableau
- Strong critical thinking skills to evaluate information, identify data gaps, and ensure validity of insights
- Skill in applying critical thinking across the product lifecycle, including pricing, underwriting, claims, and product design
- Experience translating business requirements to technical and analytical teams
- Experience developing complex business case analysis (BCA)
- Experience supporting product briefings and presenting to executive leadership
- US military experience gained through military service or as a military spouse/domestic partner
- Must not require immigration support or visa sponsorship
