About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Formulate product and sales strategy recommendations based on profitability, competitiveness, and sales performance analysis
  • Compile, analyze, and interpret data to make strategic and tactical recommendations or decisions about sales and product performance
  • Define business questions and provide insights to improve business performance
  • Support maintenance of existing products and/or lead development and launch of less complex new products with channel partners
  • Manage and prioritize deliverables in accordance with Agile principles
  • Leverage internal and external data and member information to formulate product strategy and enhance competitive intelligence
  • Develop product dashboards and metric recommendations to analyze and evaluate strategic performance
  • Partner with Marketing to define go-to-market and product value proposition strategy
  • Develop recommendations for launching new products and decisions to buy, build, or ally
  • Act as product subject matter expert on features and services and collaborate with business partners
  • Analyze and evaluate product performance metrics to recommend market opportunities and product enhancements
  • Lead efforts to expand or change existing product features using Agile methodologies
  • Contribute to product pricing and profitability decisions
  • Identify and evaluate potential providers for alliance relationships
  • Support all aspects of the Product Life Cycle
  • Approve and support development, editing, and distribution of product communications
  • Coordinate with Legal, Compliance, and Risk Management to ensure compliant product offerings
  • Collaborate with alliance partners to develop product strategy
  • Interpret performance results to inform product or sales forecasts and planning
  • Ensure business risks are identified, measured, monitored, and controlled according to risk and compliance policies and procedures

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, Statistics, or related discipline; OR 4 years of related education and/or experience may be substituted in lieu of degree, for a total of 12 years of experience without a bachelor's degree
  • 8 years of relevant industry experience in Actuary, Underwriting, Marketing or Sales/Service, Finance/Accounting Operations, or Financial Services
  • 3 years of product management or similar strategic management experience
  • 2 years of Data Visualization experience, such as Tableau
  • Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations, such as FINRA and SEC
  • Expert experience creating product briefings and presenting to executive leadership
  • Experience in market research to create product roadmaps, make product decisions, and iterate rapidly
  • Knowledge of applicable product-related regulations and risk and compliance requirements
  • US military experience through military service or a military spouse/domestic partner
  • 5 or more years leading Medicare Supplement product strategy and development
  • 5 or more years managing the Medicare Supplement Product Lifecycle
  • 5 or more years managing regulatory compliance and filings for the Medicare Supplement product line
  • 5 or more years monitoring and optimizing Medicare Supplement products
  • Must not require immigration support now or in the future; USAA does not provide visa sponsorship
