About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support Shared Services and Corporate Functions by planning and delivering defined technology programs, projects, and workstreams
  • Work with engineering, architecture, product, risk and compliance, business partners, and vendors in a matrixed environment
  • Execute assigned work day to day with discipline
  • Communicate status clearly
  • Track dependencies and risks and escalate issues in a timely manner
  • Maintain program strategies aligned with organizational goals and appropriate to risk, size, and complexity
  • Participate in analyses, root cause identification, and development and recommendation of key work products
  • Facilitate meetings with executive management and project sponsors to define solutions
  • Negotiate agreements, settle disputes equitably, and diffuse situations
  • Follow EPMO processes, procedures, controls, standards, tools, and templates
  • Follow required governance rigor
  • Drive adoption and sustainment of organizational changes in compliance with USAA's Change Management methodology
  • Identify, measure, monitor, and control risks associated with business activities in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree; OR 4 years of relevant education and/or experience
  • 1 year of project, program, operations, technology delivery, or related experience; equivalent relevant experience may be considered
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional work with defined deliverables, milestones, dependencies, and stakeholders
  • Working knowledge of project or program management practices, including planning, scheduling, status reporting, risk and issue management, and change control
  • Ability to organize multiple priorities, maintain accurate plans and records, and follow through on commitments
  • Ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally, including concise status updates and escalation of issues that may affect scope, schedule, quality, cost, or risk
  • Ability to analyze information, identify execution concerns, and prepare practical options for review by more senior program leaders
  • Ability to build effective working relationships in a matrixed organization and coordinate with technical and nontechnical stakeholders
  • Familiarity with financial tracking, resource planning, vendor coordination, or governance reporting is preferred
  • Familiarity with risk management, regulatory or compliance controls, SDLC practices, and organizational change management is preferred
  • Must not require immigration support now or in the future; USAA does not provide visa sponsorship
