About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage and drive solutions for stronger controls and risk or regulatory compliance initiatives
  • Oversee procedures and processes, regulatory reporting and filing, document governance, risk control self-assessments, procedure governance, control design, new product controls, third-party governance, and quality governance
  • Perform ongoing supervision and oversight of business controls and evaluate control effectiveness
  • Conduct risk data analysis, report preparation, and trend analysis using business intelligence tools
  • Identify opportunities to improve and strengthen the control environment through actionable insights
  • Translate control deficiencies into action plans and recommend governance enhancements
  • Partner with stakeholders to correct or prevent unfavorable trends and assess impacts
  • Lead project teams through risk remediation concept, planning, execution, and implementation
  • Advise senior management on control environment status, risk identification, and control weaknesses
  • Identify critical areas to monitor and escalate issues and findings
  • Develop and maintain processes, procedures, and tools for exception alerts and resulting cases
  • Provide control oversight to ensure compliance with laws and regulations
  • Serve as a primary resource to team members
  • Ensure business risks are identified, measured, monitored, and controlled according to risk and compliance policies

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree; OR 4 years of relevant education and/or experience
  • 6 years of experience supporting risk-related, compliance-related, or business control design activities; OR 6 years of experience in a relevant quantitative discipline; OR an advanced degree or designation in a risk management or quantitative discipline and 4 years of relevant experience; OR a PhD in a risk management or quantitative discipline and 2 years of relevant experience
  • 2-4 years direct experience in Internal Audit, External Audit, or controls testing (e.g., SOX/ICFR)
  • Basic understanding of risk and control self-assessment (RCSA) process
  • Ability to differentiate between control design and control operating effectiveness
  • Effective at interfacing and collaborating with business partners, EMG, 2LOD, and 3LOD
  • Ability to work independently on multiple assignments and problem solve
  • Experience working in financial services organizations (e.g., banks, P&C insurance)
  • Professional certification or working towards a certification (e.g., CPA, CIA, etc.)
  • Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Must not require immigration support or visa sponsorship, including H-1B, TN, or STEM OPT Training Plans
