About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as a Second Line of Defense partner focused on identifying and assessing emerging risks across consumer lending, deposits, real estate, and debt solutions portfolios
  • Monitor economic, regulatory, industry, and market trends and assess impacts on customer behavior, portfolio performance, and overall risk exposure
  • Provide forward-looking insights supporting business and risk management decisions
  • Develop and improve complex analytical frameworks across lines of defense
  • Analyze data and processes and communicate information and insights to stakeholders and leadership
  • Develop advanced quantitative analyses using internal and external data sources
  • Challenge risk proposals through research and vetting using banking product, regulatory, and industry knowledge
  • Design, build, and maintain risk management frameworks for identifying, measuring, and mitigating risk
  • Develop and oversee comprehensive risk reporting for management and committee oversight
  • Design complex financial risk sensitivity analyses
  • Provide thought leadership, coaching, and mentoring to team members
  • Execute or implement advanced credit and/or financial modeling infrastructure
  • Ensure business-related risks are identified, measured, monitored, and controlled according to risk and compliance policies and procedures

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or Mathematics; OR 4 years of relevant education and/or experience
  • 6 years of experience in an analytical field or work focused on leading risk management execution, assessments or advanced analytics; OR 4 years of experience with an advanced degree in a quantitative, scientific, engineering, business or technical field; OR equivalent demonstrated competencies
  • 2 years of prior analytical experience in a financial services or highly regulated environment
  • Experience developing and maintaining analytical reporting
  • Experience applying critical thinking skills to support successful performance outcomes
  • Demonstrated awareness of relevant laws, rules and regulations, including OCC Heightened Standards
  • Strong knowledge of current analytical coding languages such as Python, SAS, or SQL
  • Ability to assess evolving economic, industry, regulatory, and geopolitical conditions affecting consumer lending portfolios, customer behavior, and portfolio performance
  • Strong understanding of macroeconomic indicators, market trends, and external risk drivers
  • Ability to identify, evaluate, and communicate emerging risks and opportunities in ambiguous environments
  • Experience developing forward-looking risk assessments and scenario-based analyses
  • Experience presenting complex analytical findings and risk perspectives to senior executives, risk committees, or business leaders
  • US military experience through military service or a military spouse/domestic partner
  • Must not require immigration support or visa sponsorship now or in the future
