About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage, execute, and deliver large-scale programs consisting of multiple projects
- Oversee and govern programs to ensure alignment with line-of-business strategic imperatives and monitor program health
- Achieve multi-year program deadlines, scope, and overall program benefits
- Support cross-functional teams in developing and executing change plans
- Define and maintain program strategies according to risk, size, and complexity
- Provide input and recommendations on multi-year business plans and execution approaches
- Facilitate meetings with executive management and project/program sponsors
- Prepare stakeholder and management status reports, including risks and issues
- Perform analyses, identify root causes, and develop and recommend key work products
- Negotiate agreements, settle disputes, and diffuse situations
- Negotiate program tradeoffs with IT and business teams to align demand with capacity
- Adhere to EPMO processes, procedures, controls, standards, tools, and templates
- Adhere to required governance rigor
- Drive adoption and sustainment of organizational changes under USAA's Change Management methodology
- Ensure business-activity risks are identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures
- Work in the office 4 days per week at a regional office in San Antonio, Plano, Phoenix, Colorado Springs, Tampa, or Charlotte
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree, or 4 years of related experience in addition to the minimum years of experience required may be substituted in lieu of degree
- 6 years of project and/or program management experience, including defining a new program and/or managing large-scale projects
- Proficient experience in Principles of Project, Program or Portfolio Management to develop multi-year business plans
- Proficient knowledge of program efforts management tools and methodologies
- Understanding and demonstrated application of risk management policies and procedures
- Knowledge of program management methodology and techniques
- Knowledge of program performance evaluation and change management principles
- Experience maintaining and reporting on work effort(s) budgets/methodologies
- Proficient experience in USAA's change management methodology or similar industry change management methodology
- Demonstrated experience using business, product, and process knowledge to assess program risks and rewards across multiple technologies and business goals
- 5+ years of professional experience driving initiatives within financial services or highly regulated environments
- Demonstrated success leading end-to-end delivery of complex digital platforms and enterprise technology solutions
- PMP certification or equivalent methodology
- Proficiency in enterprise project management tools, such as Jira Work Management and Clarity
- Expertise navigating complex organizational structures and influencing cross-functional stakeholders
- Must not require immigration support or visa sponsorship, including H-1B, TN, or STEM OPT Training Plans
