About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Administer complex reinsurance, validate data, files, and systems, and identify discrepancies
  • Provide audit support
  • Resolve complex issues and navigate obstacles to deliver work products
  • Prepare reinsurance financial, management, and regulatory reports
  • Draft reinsurance treaties, Requests for Proposals, and Letters of Agreement, and negotiate terms under direct supervision
  • Administer retention to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, company limits, and treaty requirements
  • Collaborate with business partners and advise operational business leaders on business initiatives or strategies
  • Develop and maintain processes, procedures, and tools
  • Facilitate and review internal controls for an effective reinsurance and financial system
  • Perform reinsurance transactions, analysis, reconciliations, and research using GAAP/STAT accounting and regulatory requirements
  • Resolve escalated accounting issues
  • Lead and serve as a subject matter expert on special projects and audits
  • Complete reinsurer and compliance audit requests and coordinate responses to internal and external audits and business partners
  • Mentor team members and review their work, providing guidance and feedback
  • Assist team leads and management with work delegation, escalated issues, project work, and reinsurance trends
  • Recommend efficiency improvements and support process improvement initiatives
  • Identify, measure, monitor, and control business risks according to risk and compliance policies and procedures
  • Participate in implementation of a new reinsurance system in 2026

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree; OR 4 years of relevant education and/or experience
  • 6 or more years of experience as an analyst
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in Life and/or Annuity reinsurance administration, managing coinsurance and YRT treaty structures, and end-to-end processing lifecycles
  • Proficiency in interpreting and operationalizing Life and/or Annuity reinsurance treaty language
  • Ability to translate contractual terms into accurate administrative requirements, system configurations, or financial reconciliations
  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Excel, including advanced features and data analysis
  • Experience managing complex reinsurance structures, including Funds Withheld arrangements and financial reinsurance (FinRe)
  • Experience with operational onboarding or administration of in-force block transactions, including data migration, reconciliation, and treaty implementation
  • 3+ years of experience with accounting, financial data analysis and reconciliations
  • 2+ years of experience using Visual Basic, TAI.Net Queries, XML, and/or SQL
  • Experience working with Oracle systems
  • U.S. military experience through military service or a military spouse/domestic partner
  • Must not require immigration support or visa sponsorship, including H-1B, TN, or STEM OPT Training Plans
