About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as the primary Second Line of Defense program owner for Issue Management oversight within the Property & Casualty portfolio
  • Independently manage the issue review lifecycle
  • Evaluate supporting evidence and document defensible conclusions
  • Identify portfolio-wide trends and provide effective challenge to ensure high-quality risk management practices
  • Partner with risk, compliance, audit, and business stakeholders across the P&C organization
  • Monitor issue remediation efforts and assess risk exposures
  • Provide actionable insights to leadership
  • Identify, assess, aggregate, and document risks and controls, including risks related to new or modified products, services, distribution channels, regulations, and third-party operations
  • Communicate risk assessment results to governance committees, business process owners, and leadership
  • Implement risk policies, practices, appetites, and solutions
  • Enhance strategies, tools, and methodologies to measure, monitor, and report risks
  • Produce analytical material for cross-functional discussions and solution strategies
  • Contribute to cross-functional teams identifying, assessing, aggregating, and mitigating current and emerging risk events
  • Formulate stress test plans, evaluate results, and frame contingency plans
  • Support portfolio analytics, reporting, and automation initiatives

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Business, Finance, or related field; OR 4 years of relevant education and/or experience
  • 6 years of risk management, regulatory or operations experience in a relevant functional area, including banking, insurance, financial services, audit, project management, public accounting or another related operational area
  • Alternatively, an advanced degree/designation in Risk Management, Business, Finance, or another discipline relevant to risk management and 4 years of relevant work experience
  • Risk management experience in a complex institution and/or highly matrixed environment
  • Demonstrated experience in conflict resolution management
  • Ability to effectively challenge at all levels of management and influence business outcomes
  • Ability to work effectively with internal and external partners in a highly collaborative environment
  • Demonstrated critical thinking, data analysis, and decision-making abilities
  • Ability to make data-driven decisions
  • Ability to proactively identify potential concerns and follow up to resolve issues
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Excel and PowerPoint
  • P&C insurance experience and knowledge of risk management practices within Claims, Underwriting, Product, Distribution, or Go-to-Market functions
  • Experience leading or overseeing Issue Management programs, including issue identification, root cause analysis, remediation validation, corrective action tracking, and regulatory or audit-related commitments
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, including experience pulling, cleaning, organizing, and interpreting large datasets
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL, Python, Power BI, and other analytical platforms
  • Experience in Operational Risk, Enterprise Risk Management, Compliance, Internal Audit, or Governance functions
