About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide support to the Enterprise by delivering technology solutions
  • Participate in all phases of the software systems and application development lifecycle, including gathering and analyzing requirements, designing, testing, documenting, and implementing software
  • Respond to outages
  • Design, develop, code, and test complex technical solutions
  • Investigate and resolve complex application and system technical problems and production issues through troubleshooting
  • Improve operations through complex systems analysis and recommendations for policy and procedure changes
  • Prepare and install solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards, and programming
  • Follow the software development lifecycle
  • Participate in design reviews and learn key system design principles
  • Mentor junior engineers and potentially peer engineers
  • Review teammates' code
  • Identify, measure, monitor, and control risks associated with business activities in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree; OR 4 years of relevant education and/or experience
  • 4 years of software development experience demonstrating depth of technical understanding within specific disciplines/technologies
  • 2 years of experience delivering technology solutions across all phases of the software systems and application development lifecycle, including leading code/design reviews
  • Basic understanding of one or more of: Java, Swift, Objective-C, Cobol, JavaScript, Kotlin, C++, Apex, HTML, CSS, SQL, Go, and Python
  • Developing level of business acumen in business operations, risk management, industry practices, and emerging trends
  • Experience supporting efforts to address production issues through troubleshooting applications and systems
  • Experience articulating technical challenges and solutions
  • Basic understanding of cloud technologies and tools
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for Salesforce development
  • Demonstrated experience with Salesforce Data 360 (or Salesforce Data Cloud), including data ingestion, modeling, segmentation, and activation
  • US military experience gained through military service or as a military spouse/domestic partner
  • Must not require immigration support now or in the future; USAA does not provide visa sponsorship
