About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide enterprise support by delivering technology solutions for public cloud enablement of the USAA developer community
Participate in all phases of the software systems and application development lifecycle, including gathering and analyzing requirements, designing, testing, documenting, and implementing software
Respond to outages
Design, develop, code, and test complex technical solutions
Investigate and resolve complex application, system, and production issues through troubleshooting
Conduct complex systems analysis and recommend policy and procedure changes
Prepare and install complex solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards, and programming
Follow the software development lifecycle
Participate in design reviews and learn key system design principles
Mentor junior engineers and potentially peer engineers
Review teammates' code
Identify, measure, monitor, and control risks associated with business activities in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree; OR 4 years of relevant education and/or experience
4 years of software development experience demonstrating depth of technical understanding within specific disciplines or technologies
2 years of experience delivering technology solutions across all phases of the software systems and application development lifecycle, including leading code/design reviews
Basic understanding of one or more of Java, Go, Node.js, and Python
Experience with AWS cloud computing platform
Experience creating and managing container images
Developing-level business acumen in business operations, risk management, industry practices, and emerging trends
Experience supporting efforts to address production issues through application and system troubleshooting
Experience articulating technical challenges and solutions
Basic understanding of cloud technologies and tools
Proficiency using Git for source code management and collaboration
Experience with GitLab-CI for continuous integration and continuous delivery infrastructure
Experience with Terraform
Experience with Docker/Podman
Development experience with Go/Golang
Experience with Kubernetes, Helm, and Argo for managing application deployments
Strong interest in DevOps principles and practices
AWS certifications
US military experience gained through military service or as a military spouse/domestic partner
Must not require immigration support or visa sponsorship, including H-1B, TN, or STEM OPT Training Plans
