About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Utilize expertise, industry experience, analysis, and innovation to design and deliver strategic engagement plans for internal clients
- Leverage analytics, execute work plans, and deliver final outcomes, recommendations, and action plans
- Collaborate with key stakeholders, including senior-level executives, to maximize strategic engagement
- Work directly with senior-level executives to define business problems and structure strategic engagement plans
- Lead cross-functional, matrixed teams to solve highly complex and high-value business problems
- Provide thought leadership shaping the analysis, design, and implementation of business performance approaches
- Develop tailor-made solutions with clients to ensure positive impact and sustainable results
- Manage day-to-day execution of strategy engagements and quality of end products
- Develop junior team members supporting strategy engagements
- Communicate high-quality updates to executives and key stakeholders
- Collaborate with stakeholders and LOB leaders on executive communications covering strategy timelines, owners, required investments, and expected results
- Identify, measure, monitor, and control risks in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree; OR 4 years of relevant education and/or experience
- 10 years of strategy consulting experience, including 6 years leading strategy engagements
- Deep expertise in industries such as financial services and high-technology
- Ability to identify strategic needs and lead all aspects of projects with sound business recommendations and alignment with key business partners
- Demonstrated experience influencing business decisions
- Mastery of hypothesis-driven problem solving
- Mastery of primary and secondary market research
- Mastery of data analysis, including what-if and sensitivity analysis
- Mastery of synthesis, Pyramid Principle / Story Telling, and written communications
- Mastery of visual display of quantitative information
- Mastery of PowerPoint / Excel
- Mastery of presentation, meeting leadership, verbal communications, teaming, and project planning
- 5+ years of experience in strategy consulting or a highly analytical strategic role; top-tier consulting experience
- Exceptional analytical skills, including opportunity sizing, business cases, and performance analysis
- Proven ability to translate complex analysis into clear insights, recommendations, and compelling executive-level narratives
- Excellent PowerPoint and Excel capabilities
- Strong business and financial acumen, with experience in growth, deepening/loyalty, customer experience, product, or strategy
- Highly self-directed and collaborative, with the ability to navigate ambiguity, influence cross-functional stakeholders, and drive work from problem definition through recommendation
- Must not require immigration support now or in the future; USAA does not provide visa sponsorship
