About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Oversee and lead association-wide security activities for each shift of the 24x7x365 Security Operations Center
- Conduct ongoing review of multiple systems and sources to detect potential risks
- Inspect alarm cause and impact and create recommendation reports
- Provide supervision for major incidents
- Gather information, analyze data trends, identify root causes, and proactively provide information to leadership and appropriate stakeholders
- Leverage internal and external partnerships to proactively solve business problems and ensure appropriate elements are communicated clearly and timely
- Supervise shift personnel to ensure procedural requirements are met
- Lead performance management and development of Security Specialists
- Manage supervisory duties, including personnel action recommendations, performance evaluations, timekeeping, and PTO requests
- Guide team members in developing and delivering their work product
- Build and manage the assigned shift team through development, retention, coaching, performance management, and other managerial activities
- Ensure risks associated with business activities are identified, measured, monitored, and controlled according to risk and compliance policies and procedures
- Monitor employee, contractor, visitor, and facility safety and security worldwide
- Use and oversee tools including access control, video management, computer-aided dispatch, alarm monitoring, report management, intelligence sources, radio dispatch consoles, and in-house tools
- Detect, analyze, and dispatch security officers; monitor incidents; provide support; and notify strategic partners or external responding agencies regarding adverse conditions
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree; OR 4 years of relevant education and/or experience
- 4 or more years of operational experience in a Security Operations Center, Public Safety Answering Point, or Law Enforcement Dispatch Center environment
- Proficiency in operating and managing CCTV systems, access control systems, and alarm monitoring systems
- Ability to learn new systems quickly
- Proficient level of business acumen in business operations, industry practices, and emerging trends
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with law enforcement, emergency responders, and senior security stakeholders
- Ability to lead coordination during critical incidents
- Previous people leader experience in an operation center
- Previous experience managing emergency incidents
- Previous experience using CCure, Victor VMS, AVTEC, and Perspective
- US military experience through military service or a military spouse/domestic partner [optional]
