About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Work closely with faculty and students to develop proposals while ensuring compliance with sponsor, University, and USF Health regulations, guidelines, and processes
- Provide technical assistance for grant proposal development and submission
- Critically review, write, and edit research proposals
- Calculate budgets, including direct and indirect costs, cost share, and program income
- Develop budget justifications and review sub-recipient budgets and justifications
- Complete sponsor application forms and USF internal forms accurately
- Assist with Just in Time material requests, including IRB approvals and support forms
- Develop and edit operating controls for compliance with policies and procedures
- Provide activity reports to administrators
- Monitor purchasing requests
- Maintain and develop reports for Faculty Research Effort tracking
- Develop presentations and training tools for faculty and staff
- Provide post-award financial administration and management for complex research funds
- Interpret funding regulations and guidelines; prepare renewals and periodic reports
- Analyze expenses, develop cost projections, and provide financial tracking and fiscal control
- Advise Principal Investigators and coordinate timely proposal submissions
- Review proposals for compliance and review, negotiate, and accept grant awards
- Provide technical assistance to PIs, research administrators, and the director
- Manage and reconcile research faculty start-up accounts
- Oversee post-award management and reports
- Attend meetings, collaborate with research personnel, represent the college on committees/task forces, and back up the supervisor when needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree
- Four years of research or research administration experience
- A Master's degree may substitute for two years of the required experience
- Must meet all employment eligibility requirements in the U.S.
- This position is not eligible for Visa Sponsorship
- May be subject to a Level 1 or Level 2 criminal background check
