About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own quality across Utila’s product, including new features and production systems
  • Lead the QA team, including hiring, coaching, workload management, and reviewing test plans and automation
  • Set the quality strategy for new features and the existing product
  • Define testing layers and release completion criteria
  • Direct automation using Go unit, integration, and end-to-end suites
  • Decide what belongs in automation, what remains exploratory, and what becomes a release gate
  • Define how the team uses AI in test design, failure analysis, and automation
  • Establish standards for validating AI-generated output before release

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5+ years in software QA
  • 2+ years leading testers or owning quality for a product area
  • Experience with API testing tools and frameworks
  • Track record of setting test strategy and executing it
  • Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Working knowledge of AI tools and experience applying them in testing and QA
  • Experience hiring and developing testers
  • Domain experience with digital assets (strongly preferred)
  • Hands-on work with automated end-to-end tests (strongly preferred)
  • Experience on a system where a wrong result costs real money or breaks a financial control (strongly preferred)
  • Product-oriented mindset (strongly preferred)
