About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Brainstorm and develop concepts for social media and blog content
- Write, edit, and proofread social media posts, articles, and blog content
- Create and curate visual and multimedia content, including images, videos, and graphics
- Schedule and post content across social media platforms and the website blog
- Learn and apply UVA Brand Guidelines throughout brand messaging and content
- Monitor engagement and suggest optimizations based on performance data
- Work directly with the Associate Director of Communications and closely with the UVA | Northern Virginia leadership team
- Occasionally travel some distance to attend meetings and programs
Requirements
What you’ll need- Current UVA student
- Strong writing and editing skills
- Proficient knowledge of social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.)
- Experience in content creation, marketing, or communications
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Experience and/or interest in graphic design, blog posts and articles, social media, videography, photography, or other content types
- Graphic design experience preferred
- Video editing experience preferred
- No licensure required
- This position is not open to being a FWS assignment
