About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Monitor, reconcile, and analyze expenditures on sponsored awards to ensure compliance with award terms and conditions
- Prepare invoices, including letter of credit draws, and financial reports for sponsors
- Assist with supporting documentation for financial audits
- Manage sponsored awards from acceptance through the end of the research project
- Identify payments to sponsored projects and monitor unapplied cash
- Follow up on outstanding receivables
- Provide audit support
- Independently review sponsored award terms and conditions
- Identify reporting, invoicing, and other specific financial requirements and track tasks through the financial system
- Review sponsor payments, apply cash to appropriate awards, and investigate variances
- Troubleshoot problems by researching relevant facts and analyzing data
- Escalate non-compliance issues to the Senior Post Award Accountant or Post Award Management
- Interpret and resolve post-award financial management issues using sponsor terms and professional standards
- Perform final expenditure and cash reconciliations so final invoices or reports can be submitted and awards closed in the financial system
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree
- At least three years of relevant experience required
- A combination of education along with additional relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
- Prior work experience in Grants and Contracts, preferably with Post-Award in a Higher Education environment
- Certified Research Administrator (CRA) certification preferred
- Must be able to work without employer sponsorship
- Successful completion of a background check prior to employment
- Resume and cover letter required

- Primarily sedentary work involving extensive desktop computer use
- Occasional travel some distance to attend meetings and programs
