About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Build a research and recruitment pipeline for the Culpeper Orange Entrepreneur Workshop
  • Support the Entrepreneurial Impact Manager serving the Culpeper and Orange communities
  • Collect and organize data
  • Research business resources, entrepreneur networks, institutions, and community demographics
  • Connect with entrepreneurs and community partners
  • Assist with program recruitment
  • Organize business leads
  • Collaborate with the COW Entrepreneurial Impact Manager
  • Work up to 10 hours per week, including at least one day per week in the office

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Current undergraduate UVA student
  • Federal work-study eligibility required
  • Strong research and data collection skills
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Comfortable reaching out to entrepreneurs and partners via phone and email
  • Strong technology skills, particularly G Suite
  • Interest in small business and entrepreneurship
  • Interest in helping individuals from low-income backgrounds
  • Interest in community outreach
  • Curiosity and interest in learning
  • Interest in working with others and in teams
  • Resume and cover letter required
  • Maximum commitment of 10 hours per week
  • No prior experience required
  • No licensure required
