About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead and execute on-site installations of UVeye’s automated vehicle inspection systems
- Direct third-party contractors and ensure projects meet engineering specifications, timelines, safety requirements, and quality standards
- Install, configure, calibrate, and validate systems across electrical, mechanical, networking, and civil components
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, networking, and integration issues in the field
- Perform preventive maintenance and emergency service activities
- Maintain safety standards, identify hazards, and enforce safe working practices
- Review site layouts, engineering drawings, and technical documentation using AutoCAD or similar tools
- Identify and escalate discrepancies between planned and actual site conditions
- Serve as the primary technical point of contact during field activities
- Communicate with customers, manage expectations, and deliver a professional customer experience
- Maintain accurate installation and service documentation
- Escalate complex issues to Engineering, R&D, and Operations
- Provide field insights supporting continuous improvement
- Manage time and expenses according to company guidelines
Requirements
What you’ll need- 4+ years of experience as a Field Engineer, Field Service Engineer, or Field Technician supporting hardware/software installation and deployment
- Experience leading contractors or teams during technical installations
- Strong hands-on experience with civil works, networking, electrical wiring, and mechanical assemblies
- Working knowledge of Linux-based systems and basic networking principles
- Experience reading and interpreting site layouts and technical drawings using AutoCAD, Autodesk, or similar tools
- Ability to create clear installation, service, and maintenance documentation
- Strong communication skills with the ability to confidently lead on-site discussions and provide technical direction
- Customer-first mindset with strong problem-solving skills, resilience, and adaptability in changing field conditions
- Strong commitment to safety and the ability to enforce safety requirements on-site
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 100% across the United States and Canada (US FSEs), EU and UK (UK FSEs)
- Valid driver’s license
- Technical certification or trade school training is ideally requested
- Basic familiarity with Linux systems is ideally requested
- Experience working in customer-facing environments is ideally requested
- Ability to stand, walk, and work on active job sites for extended periods
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull equipment up to 50 lbs
- Ability to bend, reach, climb, and manually handle tools or components
- Ability to work in heat, cold, noise, dust, and other varying environmental conditions
- Ability to use required personal protective equipment (PPE)
