About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Set the architectural direction for Vaisala’s AI and agentic architecture
Design, build, and scale enterprise AI capabilities from experiments to production
Create reference implementations, evaluation harnesses, reusable patterns, and guardrails
Select and benchmark LLMs, embedding models, and agent frameworks based on quality, cost, and latency
Establish patterns for retrieval-grounded and agentic systems, including grounding, vector search, orchestration, memory, and evaluation
Design integration and AI Ops, including MCP and tool-calling interfaces, SaaS-embedded AI, CI/CD, versioning, evaluation gates, and monitoring
Work across AI, Data, Platform, and Security teams and with business domains
Lead the AI architecture community, coach architects and teams, and set technical standards
Report to the Head of Architecture

Requirements

What you’ll need

M.Sc. in a technical field, or equivalent hands-on experience
Experience shipping production AI systems, not just pilots
Ability to write code using Python, modern LLM frameworks, and agent frameworks
Depth in retrieval-grounded and agentic systems, including RAG, embeddings, vector search, tool calling, MCP, and agent orchestration
Experience with model selection, evaluation design, benchmarking, CI/CD for AI, versioning, monitoring, and drift detection
Cloud platform expertise, ideally AWS and Bedrock
Experience integrating SaaS-embedded AI such as Copilot, Agentforce, and Joule into enterprise data
Architecture leadership using patterns, standards, platform choices, target architectures, and decision records
Business sense and communication skills to engage engineers and executives
Fluent English
